I’m just south of Myrtle Beach today exploring the area for new write-ups. When we arrived in Horry County a couple of days ago we noticed a large smoke cloud. Later we learned it was from the forest fire. On Wednesday night we could smell smoke in our hotel room even though we were at least 1o miles from the fire. From our sixth floor balcony we could see a glow at night. As of today we don’t see or smell smoke. I haven’t checked the weather but I hope a heavy rain is coming.
