we saw one June 18, 2010 at cherry grove beach. we thought it was at least 6 feet but they caught it and it was 3 to 4 feet long. there might have been more than one.

As a long-time NC resident, the no-smoking ban is one of the best decisions made. There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy a meal while choking on these fumes wafting through the restaurant. Finally, going out to eat means tasting one’s food not someone else’s smoke!

That story was on TV on the 20th of July while we were staying just a short distance up the beach on Nags Head.

We found a sandbar and set up camp. As soon as lights were out turtles started jumping into the water making us think someone was messing with us. We looked out and saw the turtles lined up on a log to take their turns to jump. There’s plenty of sand bars.
