Be Safe This Thanksgiving

Hundreds of people will die during the Thanksgiving holiday. Don’t be one of them. There are a few things you can do to protect yourself and your family. First don’t drink and drive. It’s easy to have a few drinks at a party and not realize you are too drunk to drive. Even slightly impaired is too much when you consider you’re probably in an area you don’t know and there are dozens of other people unfamiliar with the area also that may also be impaired. You can’t make the other drivers drive sober, but you can be sober yourself.

Another thing to do to is to drive carefully. If you miss your exit don’t stop on the highway and back up (I’ve seen this on holiday weekends too many times). Instead go to the next exit and turn around. The five to twenty minutes you lose are worth it if it saves a life or keeps you out of an expensive accident or ticket.

And, of course, watch for others and be EXTRA aware. By being alert for dangers you may save lives.
Be safe and have a great Thanksgiving.
