I just learned that the Georgia Theatre in Athens was destroyed by fire last night. I loved that old movie theatre turned music venue. I saw a lot of great shows there when I was a student at the University of Georgia. I recently attended a show there with my wife where we saw Railroad Earth. I’m sure they’ll rebuild, but it will never be the same. I’ll miss the old stage, the worn curtains, and the hints of movie theatre days gone by.
