I know this is a blog for Southeast U.S. travel but the opportunities for travel to Mexico right now are excellent. Thanks to the drug war and now the Swine Flu tourist are staying away from places like Cancun. Avoiding most of Mexico is probably a good idea but you can bet that the tourist industry and government in Cancun and Cozumel is doing everything they can to ensure safety in their big money making areas – big money making areas until this fallout anyway.
I recently read a report from NPR that interviewed an American couple visiting Cancun. They had 11 people on their flight down and their hotel was empty. This meant they were getting world class service and attention while finding big discounts.
If you visit the Caribbean area of Mexico now you can bet you’ll be able to land some great deals and some even bigger deals once you arrive. If you are not afraid of this flu thing Cancun may be the perfect summer vacation for you.
